Low numbered serial numbers for the 5 units seem to have been used as VIP give away at the launch, but this has not been verified. (this card R0 000012) Low numbers for this issue may attract a premium over the catalog value.
These are second stage of testing (1983-1984) with final phase field trials, where the Deutsche Bundespost branded cards begin to be used by the public. the color of the cards are bright red.
Toward the end of the Frankfurt trials in around 1984, cards with thermal band are produced, but the trial ends with the selection of Siemens Chip cards chosen for the National phonecard telephone network.
