Orange Red Sodeco 00 Prefix

Germany L&G Frankfurt demo 3
Orange-Red Sodeco
Serial number range
00 200235 to
00 200986
This card is much lighter than the normal dark red Sodeco cards, and is even slightly lighter than the color later used for the Deutsche Bundespost series of trial cards.

The first demos for the Frankfurt trials of L&G technology are all this type. (Vermillion Sodeco) The early trials, test and service cards are all the same deep wine red colour (1980-1982). The second stage of testing (1983-1984), where the Deutsche Bundespost branded cards begin production, the colour of the cards are bright red.
Toward the end of the Frankfurt trials in around 1984, cards with thermal band are produced, but the trial ends with the selection of Siemens Chip cards chosen for the National phonecard telephone network.
Red Sodeco with ID2000 bands
Known serial number range
03 028463 to
03 028602
ID2000 cards were early security access cards, issued to staff working in secure locations, and as an identity badge. The Laboratory in Zug employed this type of security. These cards are shown in another section of the Museum. It is thought that some of the basic materials for these cards were used to make a batch of Test cards. This variety is also known for Austria T2, and Great Britain T1b
