Please note that the 92 unit cards including the 92 unit Weltpostkongress, are found most often in USED condition, due to the face value of the high units (catalog value is for a USED card). Some 92 unit MINT cards were cashed in at the post office to get a refund on the unused value towards the end of the trial. Such cash refunded cards were punched through the country code on the far left section of the band, so the cards could not be used. Mint cards are therefore very rare, both for the regular 92 unit, and the 92 unit Weltpostkongress Hamburg cards.

These are second stage of testing (1983-1984) with final phase field trials, where the Deutsche Bundespost branded cards begin to be used by the public. the color of the cards are bright red.
Toward the end of the Frankfurt trials in around 1984, cards with thermal band are produced, but the trial ends with the selection of Siemens Chip cards chosen for the National phonecard telephone network.
