Philips Test Cards

Philips (France) early development were simple memory chip prototypes. Various module configurations were tested. By the late 1970’s Philips focused on the Dual Chip module also developed by Philips-Valvo in Germany.

In the post IPSO development Philips moved to the single Microprocessor module. Cooperation with Bull at the direction of the French Government began by 1985-86. The intent was for the 2 companies to produce a cohesive product for the intended National Smartcard Bank card project. Schlumberger was to continue the focus on the Telecarte supply.
