Description
Senegal Demonstration Phonecard for Africabat c1988-89.
Dakar R.M.Z. likely refers to the Mermoz, a high profile neighborhood of Dakar, where the corporate offices of Sonatel were located. (Mermoz Sacre Coeur)
Initiated in the late 1980s by the Union of African Architects (UAA), Africabat served as the premier pan-African industrial exhibition and colloquium focusing on building, construction, public works, and land development.
Telemediacartes were very active in proposing various smartcard projects relating to Africabat. Senegal was closely connected to Cote D'Ivoire with direct flights. This card was specifically for phone calls on a Public Telephone.
